I picked these up as a gift for a friend who is a volunteer firefighter. Since he sleeps in his own bed (lucky him, until the alarm goes off) and has to rush to the firehouse in his own personal truck when duty calls, visibility is a must. He needs other drivers to see him coming so he can get to the station safely to suit up.
First impressions are solid. The chrome housing looks sharp on his truck, and the clear lens with the red LEDs is definitely bright enough to say “Coming through!” to anyone on the road.
I’m holding off on the fifth star purely because of the longevity factor. They seem great out of the box, but as the saying goes, “time will tell.” We need to see if they can handle the elements and the vibration of the road over the next few months. If they are still flashing bright in a year, I’ll happily come back and update the rating. For now, they seem like a smart safety investment.
